How to teach reading comprehension a-synchronously?





When we want to work on students' reading comprehension skills a-synchronously by teaching a specific text, we need to use a few online tools.
First step is to find the text that we want to teach.
Next, we need to record ourselves reading the actual text, very slowly and clearly using a screen recorder such as Screen-O-Matic, see tutorial here on my YouTube channel. 
Then, we use a tool such as Edpuzzle or H5P  to upload the recording to it and add a layer of while reading questions.
This video can be the middle of our lesson.
We can then of course add a pre-reading activity inside our lesson and a post reading activity such as : HOTS and LOT Questions on Google Docs, Summary on Padlet or a recording on Flipgrid.
