Songs that Support Speaking



I created fun songs for you to use in your classroom.

Each song has two characters talking so students can take roles! The role of the boy and the role of the girl. 

You can sing, do karaoke, play The Voice, group competitions or
"boys" against "girls" etc.

The next step would be to start speaking the dialogue in the song. Teachers can initiate pair work, puppet shows and presentations.

The next step would be to change the words in the song. This is the step that will get your students from memorizing words to thinking 
 about the vocabulary and the syntax. 

Another option is to do a Eurovision contest with the new words. That way, the judges can also "judge" according to the lyrics of the 
song.

The songs so far (more to come!):

Beginning of the year:  1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th grade:
language chunks:
"Hello im ____ what's your name?"
I'm ____, nice to meet you. 


Note: Write the names of the characters on the board. 



"What's your name"?

Language chunks: 
"What's your name? My name is ______"
"What grade are you in? I'm in grade _____"
"How old are you? I'm ____ years old".



Days of the week and hobbies

Vocabulary:  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. 
play football, do karate, play tennis,do homework, go to grandma, read a book, sleep all day.
Language chunks: 
What do you do on ______? On _____ I _________.





Family and Jobs


Vocabualry: mother, father, brother, sister
Doctor, teacher, driver, nurse. 

Language chunks: What does your ___ do? My _____ is a _______.







Around Town- prepositions of place


"Where is the _____   (place)? It's _____ (preposition) the _______(place)" 
vocabualry:
school, park, mall, shop.
behind, next to, in front of. 



Where do animals live?


Language chunks:
Where do _________ (animal) live?
_________ (animal) live ________________________.

On the farm, in the jungle, in the water.

Vocabulary:
cows, goats, elephants, monkeys, fish, dolphins.




Animals: What Can you see? 

Language chunks: 
What can we see? we can see ______(animals)
How many ____ are there?
There are _____ (number).
Vocabualry: tutles, ducks, hippos, dolphins.
four, six, three, two.  




What can the animal do?


Language chunks:
What can the ______ (animal) do?
The _________ (animal)  can _______ (verb).
Vocabulary:
hippo, bird, dog, monkey.
Swim, sing, play, climb.




How's the Weather?


Language chunks:
How's the weather today?
It's ________ and _____________.

Vocabulary:
cold, rainy, hot and sunny, warm, cloudy. 




It's Warm and Sunny Today

Language chunks:
It's _________ and ____________ today, let's ____________________.
Go to the park, play, take an umbrella to school.

Vocabulary:
warm, sunny, rainy, cool.

שירים קליטים ובהחלט מדברים ללב התלמידים. אני אפילו התחלתי לזמזם בהנאה. דבר נוסף שאהבתי אלה הן הכתוביות של השיר.תלמידים יכולים לקשר את המילים של השיר לדרך הגיית המילים. תודה רבהההה

תודה על התגובה! שמחה שאהבת! המילים נהדרות כי אפשר ממש לשיר ביחד, יש מילים בצבעים שונים לכל דמות כך שאם עושים שירים בקבוצות אפשר להגיד לכל קבוצה לשיר צבע אחר.
