This activity is all about teaching young students at the pre-foundation level, to speak, more specifically, to teach them particular language chunks.
If you use the book "Brown
Bear" you can do this pretty easily.
Here is the story:
The activity
Before you tell the story, go over the main words in the
book, the animals and the colors mentioned in the story.
a brown bear
a red bird
a yellow duck
a blue horse
a green horse
a purple cat
a white dog
a black sheep
a gold sheep
Then practice the whole chunk in advance:
"What do you see?" students reply: "I see a red red bird".
"What do you see?" students reply: "I see a white dog" etc.
Have pictures to show and have the students repeat after
you.
Then, you can start telling the story to the students, asking
them to repeat certain chunks like:
______(animal), _______(animal) What do you see?
and-
I see a "______ (color+animal) looking at me".
This activity will make them be more engaged in
the story telling activity. It will give them a role in the story. So instead of just listening to the story, they can participate in it.
You can give the students masks of the animals and have only specific students answer the questions asked in the story, according to their mask and role.

I want to thank Gail Amar, my colleague at Kibbutzim College of Education for her guidance and to my students at SMKB for creating all the amazing props and cards: Roei, Najat, Nina and Coral.
