I love using automated generators. I use them as bell ringers! things students can do when they come into class before we start. 

This one I use for word search puzzles:

The teacher's corner

The important part is to find ways in which students can actually practice some spelling using the word search puzzles and build their vocabulary.  
I tell them they can use their books to solve some of these. 

So in this word search puzzle, students need to write the meaning of the word and then search for it and find it in the puzzle. Note that this is for grade 4 (Click 3 unit 3- Animals), so a good letter practice would be, as you can see, to write the words in the word bank in capital letters and the words in the word search puzzle, in lower-case letters. So students are working on letter recognition, spelling and meaning! Download the puzzle from here. 

In this puzzle, students get clues, a "fill in the sentence" clue for every word. They also have a word bank so it's not too "open".
The sentences are right at the proper level, more or less at the same level of the unit in the book (Our World unit 3- Animals). Download the file from here.  and here you can download the answer key.
